16/04/2025
Studsvik has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the BlackStarTech product line from Constellation. The addition of BlackStarTech’s mission-critical energy storage solutions leverages Studsvik’s strength in advanced software applications while aligning with its long-held positioning as a key partner in supporting nuclear station resilience. The combination of BlackStarTech hardware and Studsvik’s firmware and monitoring software will help to modernise, connect and extend the life of nuclear plants globally. The proven technology solution has already been implemented at various plants across the USA.
Karl Thedéen, CEO of Studsvik AB, said: “Our work with Constellation to provide plant resiliency and reduce operational maintenance and surveillance costs further demonstrates Studsvik’s software capabilities that can benefit the industry. This solution will enable plants to pursue plant modernisations and efficiencies for lifetime extension projects. We are proud to usher these innovations into the global nuclear energy market under the leadership of the Studsvik Scandpower Group President, Art Wharton.”
The acquisition is not expected to have a financial impact of such materiality that it significantly affects Studsvik Group’s results or financial position during 2025.
