Faro Creaform, a business of Ametek Inc and global provider of 3D scanning and portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) solutions, in collaboration with InnovMetric, an independent software development company that empowers manufacturers of every size to digitally transform their 3D measurement processes, have announced that data acquisition from Faro Creaform’s auto-referencing multi-line 3D scanners is now fully integrated into PolyWorks|Inspector. This means that users can now benefit from real-time data visualisation and a complete dimensional analysis and quality control toolbox during acquisition.
This integration was developed in direct response to customer feedback. Many industrial original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), already standardised on PolyWorks|Inspector for dimensional inspection, have emphasised the importance of maintaining established workflows and minimising disruptions. By enabling direct data acquisition in PolyWorks|Inspector, Faro Creaform and InnovMetric ensure that InnovMetric customers can continue leveraging the complete suite of tools and functionalities they trust while benefiting from advanced scanning capabilities. This latest example of synergy between the two companies also means that organisations can now upgrade their in-line metrology measurement devices while maintaining procedural compliance and continuity.
This seamless integration offers significant advantages, as users no longer need to switch between different software platforms or adapt to new interfaces, cutting training time and accelerating onboarding. By leveraging operator expertise, established processes and metrology-grade hand-held 3D scanners, manufacturers can reach operational efficiency faster.
Faro Creaform offers auto-referencing multi-line 3D scanner data acquisition fully compatible with PolyWorks|Inspector functionalities, including scan-to-CAD alignment, surface and feature scanning guidance, mixed reality measurement workflows and automation macro scripts.
