British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing at Maintec 2025
29/08/2025
The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) was pleased to exhibit at Maintec 2025, part of the wider Smart Manufacturing and Engineering Week, held at the NEC in Birmingham from 4-5 June 2025. This high-energy event brought together a vibrant cross-section of the maintenance, reliability and manufacturing sectors and proved to be a busy and engaging addition to its outreach activities.
BINDT’s stand attracted a wide range of visitors keen to learn more about the organisation’s work in promoting membership, certification, professional registration and careers in non-destructive testing (NDT), condition monitoring (CM) and structural health monitoring (SHM). It was encouraging to see such strong interest from professionals at all stages of their careers, from students and apprentices to senior engineers and industry leaders.

Maintec also provided a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with many of the Institute’s individual and corporate members.
Rebecca Mulholland, BINDT Outreach Coordinator, commented: “It was a pleasure to catch up in person, hear about their latest projects and discuss how BINDT can continue to support their professional development and organisational goals. These conversations highlighted the strength of our community and the shared commitment to excellence that runs throughout the industry.”
Visitors to the BINDT stand were able to explore pathways to professional registration, understand the benefits of BINDT membership and discover how BINDT’s accredited certification schemes contribute to personal career progression and industry-wide competence.
Thanks are extended to Cailean Forrester, Managing Director at Inspectahire, whose time and support during the event were greatly appreciated. His expertise and enthusiasm played a key role in the success of the Institute’s presence at the event and helped ensure BINDT’s messages reached a wide and diverse audience.
Events such as Maintec are essential for fostering collaboration, sharing innovation and promoting engineering best practice. BINDT remains committed to supporting the NDT, CM and SHM communities and looks forward to continuing these valuable conversations at future events.
