NDT Group celebrates apprentice and trainee qualifications, strengthening team capabilities
26/08/2026
The NDT Group has announced that three of its apprentices and trainees have recently achieved industry-recognised qualifications across three different non-destructive testing (NDT) disciplines, a significant achievement that underlines the company’s ongoing commitment to developing talent from within.
Matthew Ellett passed his qualification in magnetic particle inspection (MPI), adding a critical surface-breaking detection method to his skillset and to the NDT Group’s in-house capabilities.
Jake Bennett successfully qualified in dye penetrant inspection (DPI), further strengthening the team’s ability to detect surface-breaking defects across a wide range of materials and components.
Dan Francis achieved his qualification in visual testing (VT), one of the most fundamental and widely applied methods in the NDT sector, essential to quality assurance across the industries that the NDT Group serves.
These three qualifications represent not only the personal commitment of Matthew, Jake and Dan, but also the effectiveness of the structured training environment that the NDT Group has built for its people.
Established in November 2017 and based in Deeside, the NDT Group has always placed people at the centre of its business. The company works in close partnership with Lavender International to deliver apprenticeship programmes, providing young people from the local community with the qualifications they need to build a successful and rewarding career in NDT.
The NDT Group also works alongside Coleg Cambria – Deeside College and has a proud track record of taking on apprentices from the local area, offering them a pathway into a highly skilled profession. The company’s management team, many of whom grew up locally and received their own non-destructive testing training in the region, understand first-hand the value of structured development and the difference a supportive employer can make.
The recent qualification successes reflect the broader vision of the NDT Group: to be a provider of an outstanding non-destructive testing service, underpinned by a team that is continually growing in skill, confidence and capability. With each qualification achieved, the business strengthens its ability to deliver the high-quality, consistent testing service that its clients rely upon.
The NDT Group extends its warmest congratulations to Matthew Ellett, Jake Bennett and Dan Francis. Their achievements are a credit to themselves and a source of great pride for the entire team.
