Sonardyne and AMOG sign MoU

Sonardyne, an underwater technology specialist, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with international advanced engineering company AMOG to provide complete subsea asset monitoring services to offshore energy infrastructure operators.
The partnership will combine the trusted underwater monitoring, positioning and communication technologies of Sonardyne and the industry-leading engineering assessment expertise of AMOG to unlock asset insights, reduce downtime and enable life extension for floating offshore wind and oil & gas moorings, as well as pipelines and risers.
This includes using the new Observer wireless intelligent subsea asset integrity monitoring solution from Sonardyne, which features both high- and low-frequency motion monitoring capabilities alongside third-party sensor integration and internal edge analytics.
The partners are already working on a near-real-time mooring monitoring system for a European floating offshore wind project.
Dr Hayden Marcollo, Director at AMOG and a global specialist in moorings and vortex-induced vibration engineering and analysis, said: “Combining high‑quality subsea data and processes at source on Observer with advanced engineering assessments will provide asset owners with more actionable, near-real-time insight into the condition and behaviour of critical subsea infrastructure through a single solution.
“For operators, this could support earlier detection of anomalies, improved understanding of loads and motions and more informed decisions around inspection, maintenance and integrity management, as well as asset longevity, in one end-to-end solution.”
The system is also applicable in floating offshore wind and the partners are already working on a near-real-time mooring monitoring system for a European floating offshore wind project.
