Pexa shortlisted for Exporter of the Year

02/12/2016

A record number of 260 entries were received for the 2016 Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards and Pexa was very happy to be shortlisted for the Exporter of the Year category. The awards, now in their 11th year, celebrate the outstanding enterprises in the region that bring talent, innovation and new jobs and perform exceptionally in their fields.

The process has been an enjoyable one; prior to the awards ceremony, Pexa’s Managing Director Jim Rowbotham attended a networking event where he met other shortlisted candidates. Although Pexa did not pick up the award, the team enjoyed a glittering evening as they heard the inspiring stories of the businesses in Yorkshire. Guest speaker and entrepreneur Katie Bulmer-Cooke also spoke very passionately about the success of her various businesses as well as her appearance on The Apprentice in 2014. The judges selected candidates for Exporter of the Year that have helped to ‘drive the export-led recovery, moved into overseas markets and acquired a detailed understanding of the nuances of each market’. Being selected for the final three means that Pexa’s success is recognised in an area that is very important for the international operation of the business.
