B&K Vibro launches new solution

Brüel & Kjær Vibro (B&K Vibro), a leading worldwide independent supplier of condition monitoring solutions for rotating machinery, has launched Setpoint 2023, a version of the Setpoint solution that provides extended monitoring capability.
Setpoint 2023 means that B&K Vibro can now take in data from more sources, including:
- Wireless sensors BKV Collect + Gateways BKV Connect: the wireless accelerometer sensors, BKV Collect, send data to mesh gateways, BKV Connect, which sends it further on to the data manager for the Aveva PI System, via Setpoint 2023. The data is stored and monitored in the Aveva PI System servers. The data can also be remotely monitored and diagnosed as a service and/or analysed with Aveva PI System analytics. Machines using wireless sensors are primarily semi-critical and balance-of-plant machines.
- VCM-3: this versatile field monitor takes in data from accelerometers and other types of sensor on semi-critical and balance-of-plant machinery. Now this data can be stored and monitored in the Aveva PI System via Setpoint 2023 in a similar way to the wireless sensors, but without using the gateway.
Setpoint 2023 can support up to 150 sensors, but multiple Setpoint platforms may write into the same Aveva PI System/AF database. Data is stored in the Aveva PI System, but there are buffers along the full collection chain, on the wireless sensor, on the gateway and within Setpoint itself. This ensures intermittent network outages do not cause data loss.
Jonathan Fox, Product Manager for Setpoint and VC-8000, said: “This new version of Setpoint opens a wide range of advanced monitoring solutions that are very cost-effective.
With Setpoint 2023, more than just critical machines can now be monitored. It can now cost-effectively monitor balance-of-plant machinery as well, by taking in data from the VCM-3 and wireless sensors through mesh gateways.”
