AGR Field Operations launches PAUT system

AGR Field Operations in Cheshire has launched a new girth weld scanning system for pipelines. The TD ‘Pipe-Runner’ was developed in collaboration with industry experts and provides a robust and versatile platform for overland pipeline ultrasonic inspection. The scanner accommodates pipe diameters from 6" to flat and its propulsion is fully automated but may also be manually propelled if necessary. The TD Pipe-Runner is said to be an ideal tool for the zonal discrimination technique of weld evaluation, using a combination of phased array and time-of-flight diffraction. The ultrasonics are handled by AGR’s TD Focus-Scan using its improved Strip-Scan software.www.agr.com
