Demand and growth rocket at ATH (NDT) Consultants

06/02/2013

ATH (NDT) Consultants made huge developments throughout a busy 2012 and these have seen the demand and growth of the business rocket, leading to the company recruiting two more full-time NDT employees to cope with its on-going and increasing workload.

David Moat has been handpicked to develop the material evaluation side of the business. David has trained many personnel across Europe. He has 10 years’ hands-on experience in the aerospace sector and extensive experience in reading, interpreting and working to a wide range of aerospace manufacturers’ specifications, including Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Airbus and Shorts. He will be running material evaluation courses in hardness testing, conductivity testing, tensile testing and acid etch inspection throughout the year at ATH’s facility, based in the northwest of the UK.

Meanwhile, Jordan Heaton has come on board to develop business excellence through continuous improvement methodologies. Jordan has a wealth of IT knowledge and is in the process of designing the new ATH (NDT) Consultants website.

Local lad Jay Bleasdale (14 years of age) has expressed a keen interest in NDT, having already learnt key aspects of the PT and MT disciplines in 2012 and working hard every weekend to develop the ATH (NDT) Consultants facility. Jay will be sitting his PCN Level 2 examinations in the early part of 2013.

“ATH (NDT) Consultants welcomes all the new additions and looks forward to seeing the value they will add to the business,” said Tony Heaton, ATH’s Level 3 Senior Consultant.

The company’s website is being redeveloped to be more user-friendly and educational. The website links to all major governing bodies and educational videos, introducing NDT to all those interested.

Throughout 2013 ATH (NDT) Consultants will be announcing the addition of its new material evaluation courses in hardness testing, conductivity testing, tensile testing and acid etch inspection (including basic chemical analysis training). All of these courses will take place at the purpose-built laboratory located at the Kelbrook Training Academy.

In addition, ATH (NDT) Consultants will be exhibiting for the first time at the Materials Testing Exhibition in September, hosted by BINDT. “We are extremely excited and believe this is a great opportunity to showcase all the areas of the business that we have been working hard to develop for the last two years,” said Tony Heaton.
