GE's Phasor XS qualified by EPRI

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has issued GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies' Phasor XS a Performance Demonstration Qualification Summary (PDQS). As a result, the Phasor XS is the only instrument qualified for manual phased array procedure for detection and length sizing of ferritic and austenitic piping, including Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking (IGSCC) for the nuclear power industry."Having an EPRI certification in nuclear power is a recognised accomplishment across all industries," said Ted Ballenger, Global Product Manager for GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. The Phasor XS offers phased array capability within a conventional, portable ultrasonic flaw detector to reduce inspection times and improve probability of detection. With its familiar operating platform and easy-to-understand, menu-driven inspection instructions, the battery-powered instrument requires minimum operator training and brings phased array technology to routine manual inspection.
Ruggedly packaged and weighing less than 4 kg, the Phasor XS is a logical progression of GE's field-proven flaw detection product range, offering an ideal entry-level phased array solution to manual volumetric inspections.
