Five out of five for Argyll-Ruane staff
07/01/2010

David Betts and Martin Dawson, as Directors of Argyll-Ruane, are very proud of their staff's achievement and believe it offers exciting development opportunities for anyone involved in NDT and inspection, especially since it links a degree route to existing certification, ie PCN/ASNT/ICorr with the obvious long-term career opportunities.
The ARL staff had also decided that, as front line trainers/examiners/consultants in the industry, this new initiative was something they needed to understand and hopefully be able to offer comments/advice to future prospective candidates (the programme includes supporting at various stages multiple NDT/inspection segments and associated modules on, for example, corrosion and quality control/assurance).
One of ARL's big interests in this development is that candidates who hold certification in the main NDT methods can gain exemptions from both year one and year two modules. Also, Northampton University has signed a memorandum of understanding with a University in Malaysia, ie TATi University College, to enable this programme to be seen as a world option, since the majority of the programme is self-study with relevant university support.
The key issue is that the more training and/or certification the candidates undergo or possess, the simpler the route to the BSc becomes.
ARL's staff will be delighted to inform anyone what the process so far has involved (please contact accordingly).
ARL can offer multiple NDT/inspection course/certification covering Levels 1, 2 and 3. The ARL website offers significant information plus direct access to the Northampton University BSc route/staff.
