30/01/2025
Verasonics Inc, a leader in research ultrasound, has announced that on 17 September 2024 the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued US patent number 12,089,991, ‘Ultrasound transmitter with low distortion and concurrent receive’, covering an ultrasonic transceiver design providing the ability to transmit high-power and high-frequency arbitrary waveforms with low-image distortion and enabling concurrent receive and monitoring of the transmit signal through the receiver during the transmit period. This is one of many Verasonics patents issued worldwide covering ten unique technologies.
The patent protects the novel transceiver design utilised in the company’s Vantage NXT research ultrasound system. Vantage NXT is the successor to Verasonics’ pioneering and industry-leading Vantage research ultrasound system. The company is in the process of filing for protection in several key territories worldwide.
“We are incredibly proud to have secured this patent for one of our core technologies,” said Jon K Daigle, President and Chief Executive Officer at Verasonics. “Our novel high-fidelity transceiver technology in Vantage NXT overcomes many of the deficiencies of conventional transceivers and opens new research application areas for our customers to explore in high frequency, signal coding and more.”
