AGR at the 11th COTEQ Conference, Brazil

The 11th COTEQ (Conference on Equipment Technology) took place at the Enotel Resort & Spa Porto de Galinhas from 10 to 13 May 2011.This is the first time that this conference has been held in the city of Suape, located in the north Brazilian state of Pernambuco. The national and state governments are investing heavily in Suape, creating a new seaport, shipyards and refineries. It is estimated that 30,000 new jobs have been created since the start of the construction of the port, with more jobs on the horizon.
One of the focus points of COTEQ is to present new NDT technologies to service providers. Many of the most important NDT companies were represented, from service providers to end users alike. Michael Ulott, AGR’s newly appointed Applications Advisor, was present at the show and he commented: “I had the opportunity to visit most of the companies that own AGR equipment in Brazil and I also had a good opportunity to reinforce a new distributor partnership with Kubika, with which AGR is currently negotiating an agreement for commercial representation in Brazil.”
Taking the opportunity of sharing Kubika’s booth, AGR was able to present its product range to several interested customers, with an emphasis on phased array and TOFD. Corrosion mapping and the versatility of combined sectorial and electronic scans were of particular interest to the visitors.
