Leading industrial consultant AV Technology Ltd (AVT) has been awarded a prestigious five-year condition-based maintenance (CBM) contract by Shell UK.

AVT is the largest Independent provider of CBM services in the UK and has a long working relationship with Shell at a number of its sites. The new contract at Shell Stanlow includes an increased scope to include rotating equipment condition monitoring, reciprocating compressor monitoring and thermography.

AVT is one of only a few UK companies that has the experience and expertise to effectively monitor the complex operational parameters in reciprocating compressors. In addition, AVT engineers will carry out lubrication audits using the company's versatile Lube-Assess tool. This will involve all key aspects of lubrication management including selection, analysis, health & safety, cleanliness and disposal.

Shell UK's Alex Jones is very positive about the relationship and, as he concludes: "AVT has always provided a quality condition monitoring service, but recently we have noticed an even more dynamic and proactive approach, clearly aimed at helping us improve machine reliability and availability. Our commitment to a five-year contract demonstrates our confidence in having AVT as our condition-based maintenance partner."
