BINDT Engineering Council registration trends
15/03/2010

The campaign has proved extremely successful, with a year-on-year increase in registrations of 1500%. This is in marked contrast to the overall average trend for EngTech registrations for all institutes that shows a reduction in registrations of -2.16%.
Registrations for EngTech have remained at single number levels since 1996 and the peak of registrations occurred from 1984 to 1990 when registrations averaged approximately 25 per year.
BINDT ranked 8th in the table for the total number of registrations at this level, putting it in the same league as many institutes of much larger membership size.
BINDT had 167 current EngTech registrations at 31 December 2009.
Incorporated Engineer registrations (IEng) and Chartered Engineer registrations (CEng) performed well upon the trend of recent years and both resulted in much higher levels than 2008. Although absolute numbers are relatively low, they have been more in trend for the registrations for the last decade.
BINDT had 134 current CEng and 239 IEng registrations at 31 December 2009.
Total registrant numbers at 31 December 2009 was 540 and this represents 36% of total BINDT membership.
