10/03/2022

IRISNDT has announced the acquisition of UK-based James Fisher NDT, from James Fisher and Sons plc, and Renewable Blade Service Canada Inc, based in Goderich, Ontario, Canada.

James Fisher NDT has served the aerospace, defence, automotive, petrochemical, utilities and nuclear markets since 2006, offering a wide array of field and laboratory non-destructive testing (NDT) services. The component testing division of James Fisher NDT, providing quality control of manufactured parts, will continue to operate from its state-of-the-art 33,000 ft2 facility, which includes eight radiographic bays, in Deeside, Wales.

Renewable Blade Service Canada Inc caters to the wind power market, offering a wide array of blade inspection, cleaning, repair and maintenance services to customers in the renewable and energy industries. This is IRISNDT’s second acquisition in the wind market, following the acquisition of Texas-based Altura Wind Services in June 2021.

IRISNDT is a privately-owned NDT, inspection and integrity engineering company with operations in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. The company serves a blue-chip customer base in the refinery, petrochemical, chemical, agricultural and power/renewables sectors around ongoing operational activities and maintenance turnaround projects, as well as construction and expansion projects. The company is owned by IRISNDT employees and First Reserve, a leading global private equity firm focused on energy and related industrial markets. The company has 22 branch locations in the USA, as well as nine in Canada, seven in the United Kingdom and five in Australia.

“We welcome James Fisher NDT, its employees and customers to the IRISNDT family. I believe James Fisher NDT to be a great fit for us and together we will become an industry leader in the North West. He said of the acquisition: “Our employees and I are very excited about joining the IRISNDT family.
