New status for NDT Technicians

23/05/2008

During April this year the Engineering Council (UK) agreed to recognise PCN Level 2 as an eligible route to registration as an Engineering Technician.
  • If you have PCN Level 2 in at least one method and have three years' relevant experience you can now register as an Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council.
  • This professional qualification is recognised worldwide. Engineering Technicians can use the letters EngTech after their name.
  • EngTech can be a stepping stone to IEng (Incorporated Engineer) and CEng (Chartered Engineer).
  • Unlike PCN certification, which needs to be renewed every five years, EngTech registration can be kept throughout your working career.
