Bob has 35 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s Register Group, one of the leading authorities on safety and risk management, which recently celebrated its 250 year anniversary. His role has covered operational management, sales, business development and, prior to his new appointment, he was fully involved in specifying client contracts. Bob has operated throughout the oil, gas, petrochemical and power generation industries for most of his career, taking businesses from grass roots through to maturity, including involvement in successful joint venture operations. Bob is also a former Chair and the current treasurer of the North East Scotland Branch of BINDT.
Aberdeen Operations Manager, Richard Nott, told NDT News: “Bob brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position within the Lloyd’s Register Group and will be developing the Integrity Services division in line with the Group’s vision and values, providing a strong focus on quality and growth.”
The primary focus of the division is on integrity management, integrity services and inspection management of onshore and offshore assets. These functions are carried out with emphasis on pressure systems and pipelines and structures, and include additional engineering support services such as corrosion engineering and materials and non-destructive testing.
Commenting on his appointment, Bob said: “The Lloyd’s Register Integrity Services team is strong and motivated to ensure that objectives are met. It is also vital that appropriate personnel are attracted in order to sustain the envisaged growth and far reaching challenges and opportunities ahead. Giving clients the confidence in the safety of their asset has never been more important and I am confident that under my leadership, and with the support of the team and senior management, the Lloyd’s Register Group will become the recognised industry leader in its field for Integrity Services.”
