Inspectahire Instrument Co Ltd has been awarded Innovation of the Year at the Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards 2026.

Inspectahire’s winning innovation, the Ultrasonic Whisky Gauge, is transforming how distilleries manage cask inventory. By enabling non-invasive, highly accurate measurement of liquid volume inside sealed casks, it removes the need to open them or disrupt the maturation process, preserving quality while improving operational efficiency.
Using advanced pulse-echo ultrasonic technology, the system measures fill levels externally with exceptional accuracy, helping distilleries improve inventory control, reduce handling risk, maintain product integrity and increase warehouse efficiency.
This is a true example of innovation rooted in both science and practical need.
