IRISNDT has announced the acquisition of an interest in Renewable Blade Service LLC. Based in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, Renewable Blade Service serves the wind power market, offering a focused array of blade inspection, repair and maintenance services to customers in the renewable and energy industries. This is IRISNDT’s third investment in the wind market following the acquisition of Ontario-based Renewable Blade Service Canada in January 2022 and Texas-based Altura Wind Services in June 2021.
“Our employees and I are very excited about formalising the partnership with IRISNDT. We look forward to further building on this service line and leveraging IRISNDT’s advanced NDT, rope access and mechanical services offering for our customers,” said Stuart Ford, Managing Director of Renewable Blade Service.
IRISNDT is a privately-owned NDT, inspection and integrity engineering company with operations in the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia. The company serves a blue-chip customer base in the refinery, petrochemical, chemical, agricultural and power/renewables sectors around ongoing operational activities and maintenance turnaround projects, as well as construction and expansion projects.
The company is owned by IRISNDT employees and First Reserve, a leading global private equity firm focused on energy and related industrial markets, and has 23 branch locations in the USA, as well as nine in Canada, seven in the UK and five in Australia.
“We welcome the opportunity to work closer with Stuart and his employees to build an incredible business around the needs of the customer. Stuart is a strong leader and subject matter expert on blade repairs, with a focus on safety and quality,” said Mike Bazzi, President of IRISNDT’s USA operations.
“This latest investment underscores IRISNDT’s strategic commitment to expand its business in the power and renewables markets, leveraging the strengths in our advanced NDT, integrity engineering and asset integrity management offerings. IRISNDT is in growth mode and we will continue to evaluate attractive add-on acquisition opportunities,” said Bret Moffett, CEO of IRISNDT.
