Bolton business celebrates landmark year

This has been a landmark year for Bolton NDT & Inspection Limited (BNDT), with a move to new premises and the completion of its new radiographic facilities.
Since 1987, BNDT has provided a comprehensive range of non-destructive testing services, covering a wide variety of engineering disciplines. But last year the firm decided it needed to move in order to expand its services.
Company founder, Dave Batty, said: “In 2013, we decided that a radiographic inspection department was required to complement our existing services and enable us to offer our clients a complete service. In order to provide this, we needed to occupy and develop larger premises. We moved into our new 12,000 sq ft testing facilities in January and the laboratories were completed in June.
We also have on-site carbon and stainless welding facilities, where any remedial work can be carried out by either our coded welders or by our customers’ welders, who would have access to our high-specification welding equipment. Obvious advantages would be minimising the ‘downtime’ in your production schedule and a reduction in transport costs and thus your company’s carbon footprint.”
Today, the company has 26 employees across three different departments: radiography, non-destructive testing (NDT) and welding consultancy and inspection, which have all seen continuous growth each year. BNDT decided to react positively to the changes to the CE marking regulations that were imposed in July and assists companies throughout the welding and construction industry by offering CE consultancy and RWC courses to companies who need them.
Dave added: “Our engineering team has a wide range of experience in most disciplines and fully understands the value of a fast turnaround and the negative impact should this not be achieved. We aim to complete all inspection work within the required time-frame for all our clients, working 24/7 if necessary. This will be refreshing news for many companies that have not had this service available to them in the past.”
The success achieved so far at BNDT can be reflected in its high-quality service and the ‘personal’ touch that its customers receive.
