Olympus is renowned as a leading manufacturer and supplier of non-destructive testing and remote visual inspection equipment for engineering and maintenance applications throughout the world.

The Olympus global organisation is fully committed to supporting and providing the very best after-sales technical service to all of its customers.

Over the last 18 months, Olympus has committed to working with UKAS in order to achieve accreditation in recognition of its competence and technical ability, through investing in the skill set of its fully trained technicians and staff at its Technical Service Centre in Southend-on-Sea.

P A Stevens (Director of Technical Services) announced that Olympus Service has now achieved the accreditation of ISO 17025:2005, defined as the ‘global standard for the technical competence of calibration and testing laboratories’.

“With our Quality Management System and the recognition by UKAS, we can continue to assure Olympus customers of the highest customer satisfaction and, with accreditation now granted for the EPOCH range of Olympus flaw detectors, we are moving towards achieving technical as well as quality management excellence,” a spokesperson told NDT News.

“In essence we are confident of the future benefits this accreditation will provide to our service provision, to the valued customers of Olympus. We will now work to encompass the entire portfolio of Olympus NDT products and, in this respect, Olympus will continue to provide regular updates of developments as they continue to be put in place.”
