Brian Lambert retires… at the grand age of 80!

18/09/2013

Brian Lambert, President of the NDT Society of Great Britain from 1972-1974, was recently presented with a BINDT lapel badge and gift, on behalf of BINDT staff, its Certification Management Committee and Council, on the occasion of his retirement, which also happened to coincide with his 80th birthday!

Another Past President – though in this case of BINDT – Roger Lyon, thanked Brian for his service to the Institute and to industry over many years.

It was in 1981 when Brian shared the vision to see the benefits of a single UK certification scheme for NDT, to replace the multiple certificates that operators then needed. Growth was slow but the turnaround came when the CEGB agreed to close down its scheme and adopt PCN and, ten years after the initiation, PCN began to bear fruit and is now widely recognised throughout the world.

A special thanks was extended to Brian from the Certification Services Division of BINDT for all his hard work and auditing efforts.
