Lawrence Goldberg inducted into Divers’ Hall of Fame

Lawrence Goldberg, Sea Test Services, was recently inducted into the ADCI Divers’ Hall of Fame. He was acknowledged for his significant contributions to NDT and the commercial diving industry. Goldberg is regarded as one of the ‘fathers’ of underwater NDT because of the new tools and methods that he invented for ensuring the structural integrity of offshore structures.
He is credited with bringing legitimacy and credibility to the practice of underwater NDT at a time when only topside non-destructive testing was recognised by the NDT technical community. Lawrence Goldberg is an ASNT Fellow and has been given the 25-year recognition award by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Goldberg’s company, Sea Test Services (STS), has been a leader in NDT R&D and inspections in the oil & gas industry for over 30 years. The company specialises in underwater non-destructive testing and has worked to provide safe, cost-effective and well-engineered inspection technologies to industry since 1981. STS has developed and administers a third-party qualification programme for the oil & gas industry to ensure the competency of topside and underwater NDT inspectors.
