Villari becomes Corporate Member of BINDT
17/09/2024
Villari BV, a fast-growing Dutch start-up that originated as a spin-off from Technical Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, has joined BINDT as a Corporate Member.
Villari is dedicated to extending the structural lifetime of steel structures in ports, infrastructure and the steel industry through its crack detection technology, which has been certified by DNV.
The company’s permanently installed wireless sensors monitor fatigue crack initiation and growth in critical locations using local variations in the magnetic field. The raw data is transmitted wirelessly using long range (LoRa), stored in a secured environment, analysed and regularly reported to customers via a dedicated online dashboard.
The Villari monitoring system allows structure owners to track fatigue crack growth in the critical areas of their assets on a highly frequent basis. Compared to traditional methods, the company offers continuous and accurate inspection, carefree installation, competitive pricing and certified technology.
Villari’s innovative solution has earned the trust of esteemed customers such as Tata Steel Europe and a Directorate-General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands (Rijkswaterstaat), as well as ProRail, a Dutch government organisation responsible for the maintenance and extension of the national railway network infrastructure.
As of 2024, 1300 sensor systems were installed across Europe, including in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the UK, with some of them monitoring the assets for more than two years, ensuring the safety and longevity of critical steel structures worldwide.
