Graham is seeking a number of proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineers to support the delivery of a multi-million-pound project in Didcot, Oxfordshire. These roles will play a key part in ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidates will contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes and help maintain a culture of excellence across all project phases.Job description:
- Implement the quality assurance (QA)/quality control (QC) management system on site
- Coordinate quality inspections with all site subcontractors and vendors and coordinate all non-destructive testing (NDT) on site
- Coordinate with the client’s representative on all quality matters
- Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
- Verify that the quality-related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
- Participate in the site’s internal and external site audits
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built handover to the client
- Control all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action
- Complete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
- Monitor the implementation of the approved site quality control plan
- Complete and coordinate the approval of the site’s QC technical submittals to the customer
- Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues
- Coordinate and chair the QA/QC weekly site meetings with the project subcontractor’s QC personnel
- Elaborate the inspection and test programme
- Ensure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current.
This job description is intended to give the post holders an appreciation of the role envisaged for the successful Quality Engineers and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
Personal specification:
Essential- Degree or Higher National Certificate (HNC)/Higher National Diploma (HND) in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a quality-related role within the construction or civil engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards
- Experience with quality audits (internal and external)
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials and legal regulations
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software/tools.
Desirable
- Hold relevant and recognised quality management qualifications
- Membership of a professional body
- Experience working on large-scale projects
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
