Senior Mechanical Engineer

A Senior Mechanical Engineer  passionate about engineering excellence is sought to join a world-leading provider of subsea and deep-water intervention solutions. Based in North Yorkshire, the role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, designing and developing remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), trenchers and submarine rescue systems that operate in some of the most extreme environments on the planet.

The role:

• Take the technical lead on mechanical design projects from concept to production
• Develop innovative engineering solutions for complex subsea applications
• Produce detailed designs, calculations and documentation to ISO 9001 standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Provide technical support to production, sales and customer service teams
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Experience:

• A degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience)
• At least three years’ experience in mechanical engineering design
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, materials science and power transmission
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software (for example SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and finite element analysis (ANSYS)
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements
• Ability to solve problems, manage projects and communicate technical concepts clearly.
