Welding Inspectors

• Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry and project standards
• Prepare and control welding and manufacturing documentation, specifications and quality records
• Oversee welder testing, qualifications and implementation of inspection and test plans
• Monitor interpass temperatures, heat input checks and dimensional accuracy
• Identify and record non-conformities, managing rectification and retesting where required
• Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) internally and externally
• Audit welding processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Champion Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
  
  

Qualifications and skills required:

• PCN Level 2/CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 welding inspector
• PCN Level 2 visual testing
• Understanding of welding techniques, materials and industry standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety and quality excellence
• IT proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  
  

Desirable skills (but not essential):

• NDT certifications in magnetic particle inspection or ultrasonic testing
• Experience with hot dye galvanising, high coat NACE
• Level 2 or ICorr
• Background in welding engineering, supervision or leadership roles.

The position will become permanent after successful completion of an 18-week probationary period.
