Ultrasonic inspection in the material revolution – UT 2D matrix array camera

P Rogger

This presentation focuses on improving the capability for and reducing the cost of quality control through integration of ultrasonic matrix technology and advanced signal processing platform.

The presentation addresses the challenge of material inspection and quality control in an age where materials are getting stronger, thinner and lighter, while the margin for error gets smaller and more complicated to detect.

Matrix ultrasound technology combined with advanced signal processing provides a platform that is much simpler to use than traditional ultrasound, while at the same time it has increased the capability of material inspection (non-destructive testing) in automotive, aviation, shipping, yachting and wind power sector. The greatest difference between traditional ultrasound technology and DolphiTech Matrix technology is data processing, which enables greater automation in the inspection process and detection of much smaller errors of 0.1 mm and below. It further enhances modelling capabilities and can be used in advanced analytics to predict wear and tear, thus helping improve design and production.

DolpiCam2 is not just the most advanced matrix ultrasound technology for NDT inspection, it is a platform providing analytics that can help improve production as well as design. It is highly customisable to needs and provides very good return on investment (ROI).
