NDT 2024

3-5 September 2024
The International Centre, Telford, UK

The NDT 2024 and MT 2024 co-located annual conference and exhibition were a great success - click on the thumbnails below to watch the highlights!

  About the Conference

NDT 2024 consisted of three parallel technical sessions covering a broad range of NDT technologies and applications. Papers from both academia and industry were encouraged.

This year the Roy Sharpe Prize award was sponsored by Ultramag Inspection Services Ltd, UK.

  Materials Testing Exhibition (MT 2024)

From 3-5 September over 60 companies exhibited at MT 2024, one of the leading international exhibitions for the NDT, condition monitoring, diagnostic engineering and quality testing industries, enhanced by a programme of talks and seminars covering practical aspects of NDT and related technologies, alongside the NDT 2024 Conference. For further information about MT 2024, click here.
Attendance at the Exhibition is FREE of charge to visitors.

  RCNDE Showcase

The UK Research Centre in Non-Destructive Evaluation (RCNDE) is an industry-funded consortium of academic and industrial members focused on the inspection technology needs of the 21st century. The Centre has carried out world-leading research since 2003, for which it is known and respected globally.

RCNDE staged its third international ‘RCNDE Showcase’ event at NDT 2024, the Annual Conference of the British Institute of NDT, taking place from 3-5 September 2024, at the International Centre, Telford, UK. The showcase comprised a range of presentations in Session A, running continuously throughout the conference, and presented research from the eight university members, including how the research provides industrial benefits.

This was a unique opportunity for industry to learn about the most recent outputs from the research programme and understand the benefits of membership, be it as a Tier 1 end-user industrial member, a Tier 2 member, or an associate member from the NDE supply chain. Aligned examples of ready-to-go technologies were also be demonstrated on the RCNDE stand at the co-located Materials Testing 2024 exhibition.

The benefits and synergies of focusing research on cross-sector requirements are obvious and the industrial membership represents a significant proportion of the sectors requiring advanced NDE. However, some other sectors are yet to realise these benefits, and, during the showcase event, RCNDE hoped to engage with potential new members and new sectors that could benefit from its broader TRL1-6 span of activities. These activities have a significant technology-transitioning element with alignment to the needs of the fourth industrial revolution – Industry 4.0.
