NDT for Safety Critical Applications Workshop 2019

Friday 25 January 2019
Watermill Hotel, Paisley, UK

This workshop showcased the importance of NDT in safety-critical applications (including nuclear energy, aero engines, oil & gas, civil construction and marine) and allowed researchers, technicians, apprentices and students to see a wide range of applications.

A concluding session focused on NDT apprenticeships, looking at the present situation in Scotland and reviewing the rapid progress of the Trailblazer NDT Apprenticeship Scheme in England.

The event was held at the Watermill Hotel in the centre of Paisley, within walking distance of Paisley Gilmour Street railway station and a short taxi ride from Glasgow Airport.

A table-top exhibition ran in parallel with the workshop, which delegates visited during the tea/coffee and lunch breaks.

In the evening, following a networking period, the venue hosted the Annual Burns Supper, a celebration of the life and works of Robert Burns, with music, songs and dancing.

PCN and CPD points applicable.
