BINDT Workshop 2026: NDT of Composites – A New Dawn?
13-14 May 2026
Derby Leisure and Events, Derby, UK

Following on from the previous successful composites events, the BINDT Composites Group will run a workshop in May 2026 at Derby Leisure and Events, UK, with the theme: ‘NDT of Composites – A New Dawn?’.
With the new manufacturing methods and materials used in the composites industry, some of the tried and tested traditional NDT methods can become less effective and new approaches to composite NDT become necessary. This may require completely new inspection methods or novel ways of applying and/or processing existing methods. In many industry sectors, this can result in challenges to meet regulatory requirements, demonstrate effectiveness and ensure adequate training and certification of personnel.
Increased interest in in-process inspections mean that NDT could be applied during manufacture, to identify issues early in the process. This is another area where novel NDT methods or applications are needed and come with similar challenges to adopt and validate.
Over the course of the workshop, we will hear from suppliers/developers of novel NDT methods, end-users with real-world experience of introducing new NDT technologies across a range of sectors and representatives from regulatory and controlling authorities.
The workshop aims to bring people with similar experiences together so that they can connect and develop strategies to validate and implement novel NDT approaches throughout the lifecycle of composites.
