Volumetric Inspections

How many different methods and techniques are there available for volumetric inspections? I have discounted those surface methods that can also detect slightly sub-surface defects such as MT and ET.

One of the more commonly used methods is UT, which can be in the form of manual scanning, automated scanning, UT phased array, TOFD, immersion testing, dry probe coupling, EMAT, guided wave, long-range UT and thickness gauging.

The other commonly used method is RT, which can use X or gamma sources, film or filmless, CRT, DRT or CT.

Is terahertz radiation inspection a limited volumetric method?

How is acoustic emission testing classified: volumetric or surface?

Which other methods could be included in the list? There are more tools in the NDT toolbox than originally thought.
