Serco Rail Technical Services (SRTS) provides multidisciplinary engineering, non-destructive testing (NDT) and strategic asset solutions to the global rail industry. SRTS support train operators, manufacturers and infrastructure managers with vehicle testing, instrumentation laboratories and technical consultancy.
Key services and operations:
– Non-destructive testing: SRTS provides onsite inspection and consultancy using advanced and conventional methods.
– Main methods: phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), ultrasonic testing (UT), computed radiography testing (CRT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), eddy current testing (ET) and visual testing (VT).
– Engineering and instrumentation: SRTS specialises in overhead line equipment (OLE) testing, remote condition monitoring and vehicle testing.
– Rail data and asset management: SRTS manages specialised data services, including the parts and documentation system (PADS).
– Training: SRTS is accredited by BINDT and Network Rail to provide NDT courses for Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
