NANDTB Vision Requirements
UK National Aerospace NDT Board
The vision requirements for NDT personnel at all levels is defined by EN4179. For Aerospace NDT personnel within the United Kingdom, Near Vision examination using the Tumbling E test in accordance with NANDTB/24 became mandatory as of 1 January 2011. With the publication of ISO 18490:2015, NANDTB/24 is superseded and ISO 18490:2015 is the mandatory standard.Existing documentation or Tumbling E vision test charts that continue to state NANDTB/24 remain valid but ISO 18490:2015 is the standard that must be adhered to.
ISO 18490 does not address the colour vision requirement as specified by EN4179.
