08/04/2016 Two new ways for the pipeline industry to cut costs and complexity
Pipeline development projects are becoming increasingly complex and spanning longer and deeper terrains. Pipelines must operate at higher pressures and temperatures, in harsher environments and to stricter regulatory requirements. Projects must also be feasible in a cost-constrained market. DNV GL is inviting industry players to take part in two Joint Industry Projects (JIP) that aim to help the industry work more efficiently while maintaining safety.

ASNT Chairman Dr Terry Clausing and Executive Director Arny Bereson travelled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the first 2016 ASNT Section Technical Dinner Meeting, which was held on 9 February 2016 at the Crowne Plaza Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. WENS Managing Director Sajeesh Kumar Babu and Technical Director Mr R Raghunathan also extended a warm welcome to the ASNT delegates to visit the WENS Technical Training Center, located in Business Bay, Dubai, UAE, on 11 February 2016.

01/04/2016 Lavender International to host employer information event for NDT apprenticeship programme
The programme for the NDT Engineering Technician apprenticeship is now available and the standard and its assessment plan have been approved. Lavender International is recognised by the Skills Funding Agency as a Lead Provider. Already, a number of employers have begun the process to develop apprentices through the three-year NDT apprenticeship programme and this event is designed to advise all interested parties about the programme.
