Oceanscan Limited acquires Sercal Non Destructive Test Equipment

Oceanscan Limited has announced the acquisition of Sercal Non Destructive Test Equipment Limited, based in Cannock, Staffordshire. Sercal provides a comprehensive repair and support facility for ultrasonic equipment and is a UKAS-accredited laboratory for the calibration of ultrasonic flaw detectors, thickness meters and transducers. The acquisition extends Oceanscan’s leading presence in the provision of ultrasonic calibration services to the UK oil & gas sector, as well as introducing the company to Sercal’s customers, who mainly operate in railway systems, power generation, steel production, consulting engineering and scientific services.Ken Hunter, Managing Director of Oceanscan, commented: “The acquisition is an obvious and strong strategic fit with Oceanscan’s growth strategy and we believe it will provide a number of commercial, operational and financial benefits for the Oceanscan Group.
