On 18 November 2015, GE’s Inspection Technologies business opened a Technology Solutions Centre in the UK to provide customers with a facility to test GE’s non-destructive testing (NDT) technologies to solve their specific inspection problems. The new Technical Solutions Centre (TSC), the first in the UK, is located in Ratby, near Leicester, just 1.5 miles from the Groby manufacturing site of GE Measurement & Control.

Applied Inspection was founded in 1984 and operates from four laboratories in Burton, Chesterfield, Ossett and Glasgow.
01/02/2016 Oceanscan Limited acquires Sercal Non Destructive Test Equipment
Oceanscan Limited has announced the acquisition of Sercal Non Destructive Test Equipment Limited, based in Cannock, Staffordshire. Sercal provides a comprehensive repair and support facility for ultrasonic equipment and is a UKAS-accredited laboratory for the calibration of ultrasonic flaw detectors, thickness meters and transducers. The acquisition extends Oceanscan’s leading presence in the provision of ultrasonic calibration services to the UK oil & gas sector, as well as introducing the company to Sercal’s customers, who mainly operate in railway systems, power generation, steel production, consulting engineering and scientific services.
