Lavender reopens following COVID-19 pandemic closure

08/06/2020

Lavender International has announced that it reopened for business on 25 May 2020 following a period of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company has been closely monitoring government advice in relation to the pandemic and has developed a strict health and safety procedure, outlining in detail the precautions implemented to maintain the safety of both employees and students. This includes adapting the training environment to ensure that social distancing can be maintained and offering PPE where required.

“The health and safety of our employees and students is our main priority. We have taken a great deal of time to consider every aspect of operating in a safe working environment while this pandemic is still ongoing,” said Tim Armitt, Managing Director.

The procedure has been audited by external advisors and has been found to surpass current government advice. It has been written as a live document and, as such, is subject to change in accordance with any updates to government guidelines.

Students will be required to adhere to the procedure to undertake courses at the training schools, full details of which can be found on the company website.

The UK office has been offering recertification examinations since 25 May at its UK training schools in Penistone and at the Advanced Manufacturing Park, Sheffield, for visual testing, magnetic testing, penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) and phased array (PA).

Full initial Level 2 courses will be available from 1 June in visual testing, penetrant testing, magnetic testing, radiographic testing and ultrasonic testing. Other courses, such as Level 3 Basic, TOFD, PA and high-temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA), may be accommodated according to need. The USA office has been offering recertification examinations since 25 May 2020 at the training school in Texas, USA.
