Altrad wins major place on Sellafield framework contract

Altrad will join forces with supply chain partners across three key areas of a new Sellafield Ltd framework, which in total is worth up to £4.6 billion.
The Decommissioning Nuclear Waste Partnership (DNWP) Framework will support high-hazard risk reduction programmes at the Sellafield site.
Altrad will work on Lots 1 (Remediation), 3 (Retrievals) and 4 (Nuclear Waste), of the framework agreement, which will be in place for an initial nine years, with an option for a further six years through to 2040.

DNWP will support activities related to retrieving waste materials from the site’s oldest facilities, as well as treating and storing those materials and decommissioning redundant assets. The new programme will replace and build upon the capabilities successfully delivered through the existing Design Services Alliance (DSA) and Decommissioning Delivery Partnership (DDP) ahead of their expiry.
Altrad will also help develop a joint sustainability plan to ensure a collaborative approach that is aligned to local priorities and delivers maximum impact and return on investment. Positive social impact is also a key priority of the framework, which includes commitments from each of the partners, aligned to Sellafield’s Social Impact strategy.
