Silverwing presents technical paper at SGS Pakistan Asset Integrity Management Summit

Silverwing presented a technical paper at SGS Pakistan’s Asset Integrity Management Summit, held in Karachi on 26-27 November 2013. The paper was titled: ‘Tank floor inspection – a comparison of various techniques being employed in the industry’ and was presented by Emad Javaid, Sales and Marketing Manager for Silverwing Middle East LLC.
The paper talked about the various equipment and techniques that are currently being used in the storage tank bottom inspection industry. A general comparison was made between Silverwing’s latest FM3D Auto MFL floor scanner, earlier versions and conventional tank bottom plate inspection. Emad commented: “We were very pleased and appreciated the initiative that has been taken by SGS Pakistan in establishing a summit specifically focusing on the various aspects of asset integrity management. The summit was a very important contribution in the Pakistan energy sector, since it sets up an awareness regarding hidden corrosion and other asset integrity issues that constantly plague the oil & gas industry, with unforeseen operating costs.”
The summit was very well attended by CEOs of national and multinational organisations, with members of regulatory bodies and government ministries taking an active part. Foreign diplomats and major business leaders from various countries also attended and presented their technical papers.
