Oceanscan's X-TYPE success story continues in Asia

09/01/2009

After successfully implementing and completing the first phase of an X-TYPE Harbour Surveillance Programme for a Chinese company in Dalian, China, in 2007, Oceanscan Limited has recently signed a major contract for the second stage of the project and is also in talks for a possible third phase contract being awarded early in 2009. This follows on from the company's success in South-East Asia in 2006.

With the China contract going ahead and two other project awards pending, Oceanscan is delighted that its vision and investment to promote harbour security around the world is firmly becoming a reality.

Manel Monteiro, Oceanscan's Sales and Marketing Director, stated that "Oceanscan has invested heavily in its own in-house Research and Development Team over the past four years. The R&D team has been working tirelessly to develop sonar technologies resulting in the best Underwater Intruder Detection Systems (UWIDS) available on the market today. As in any company, if you surround yourself with the best technical people, the chances are the resultant products will be the best."

Oceanscan is currently working hard to secure two major contracts in other areas around the world, with strong possibilities of these contracts being awarded early in 2009.

In a world where, unfortunately, underwater threats are a reality, it is good to know that technology is at hand to protect lives and assets wherever those threats may occur.
