Bowyer Engineering celebrates 80 years

On St George’s Day 2026, Bowyer Engineering Ltd celebrated 80 years of business, a proud milestone. Reaching eight decades is no small achievement and it has only been possible due to the dedication of its staff, the loyalty of its customers and the strong values that have guided the company since 1946. Bowyer Engineering marked the occasion with its team and many of the customers who have been part of the journey.Bowyer Engineering Limited was founded in Clerkenwell in 1946 and, in 1969, as its machining capabilities expanded and opportunities grew, the company relocated to a new greenfield site in Andover at what is now known as Walworth Business Park. This move was part of a London overspill agreement.

The company is especially proud of its long-standing partnership of more than 60 years with Rolls-Royce, which remains one of its largest and most valued customers. Over the decades, Bowyer Engineering has also built enduring relationships with other respected organisations, including JLR, RCV Engines, FTT, Boom Supersonic and QinetiQ. These partnerships reflect the trust placed in it and the consistently high standards its team delivers.
This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful as the company also marked the retirement of owner Michael Bowyer. Michael’s contribution to the business spans decades of commitment, leadership and dedication. His knowledge, integrity and unwavering belief in quality engineering have helped shape the company into what it is today.
