New PCN Level 3 pathway to Incorporated Engineer registration

20/09/2013

Following the alignment of PCN Level 2 certification with the requirements for Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration, the Engineering Council has now also agreed that PCN Level 3 certification satisfies the knowledge and understanding requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).

The Table below shows the different combinations of eligible PCN certification and experience for Incorporated Engineer registration. Any one of the routes (CR1 to CR15) is an acceptable pathway.

Applicants for registration as an Incorporated Engineer need to be Members of the Institute. However, non-members can apply for IEng and MInstNDT simultaneously.

Candidates whose written applications satisfy the requirements will be invited to attend a Professional Review Interview (PRI) – the final stage of the assessment process.
