Job details:
Destec Engineering Limited designs and manufactures clamp connectors, subsea pipe connectors, seal rings and boiler inspection caps and is seeking an Apprentice Engineering Technician. The company provides on-site machining services, including milling, bolt tensioning, line boring and inspection services and works across the water, power generation, offshore and energy sectors.

Duties:

  • Inspection, testing and understanding of drawings
  • Working with the team to ensure non-destructive testing is completed as per requirements and timelines
  • Basic understanding of liquid penetrant – visible (LPV), magnetic particle – fluorescent (MPF) and liquid penetrant – fluorescent (LPF)
  • Basic understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment and procedures, including calibration and consumable requirements
  • Operating a variety of machines (computer numerical control (CNC) or conventional) for assembling and repairing machine and press tools
  • The successful candidate will work towards an apprenticeship standard in Level 2 engineering operations (manufacturing and maintenance pathway)
  • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course
  • This is a day-release programme, which means the successful candidate will attend Lincoln college one day a week during term time only. This will fall within the contracted working hours.

Working hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8.00 am-4.00 pm and Friday: 8.00 am-3.30 pm.
