Examination results notice

The examiner completes the results notice in accordance with PCN/GEN requirements at 15.4. Candidates who fail any part of the examination will be provided with brief reasons for failure on this notice.

The examination is where the candidate demonstrates their ability to inspect a sample without any assistance and to report the results. It is not a continuation of the training and the samples are confidential to the examination, hence only brief reasons for failure are given. This may be a simple statement such as ‘adding non-existent defects’ or ‘missing defects’.

Candidates can help by producing a clear and concise report and checking that it is correct before submission.
