Lavender International NDT at Materials Testing 2017

11/09/2017

Established in 1976, Lavender International NDT is a leading provider of non-destructive testing training, examinations and Level 3 services to clients across the world. What sets it apart from other NDT training schools is that Lavender International is now owned by its employees. This means that everyone in the company is a co-owner and is equally invested in ensuring that the students it trains have the best experience, the companies it works with have optimum support and that everything it does is delivered by quality staff. The company believes that the experience it provides is unique and it is often referred to as ‘the Lavender way’.

Lavender International is approved by major NDT organisations, such as BINDT and AINDT, to provide training and examination suitable for internationally-recognised central and employer-based certification schemes. Various Level 1, 2 and 3 courses are run, such as magnetic testing, penetrant testing, radiographic testing, weld inspector, ultrasonic testing, time-of-flight diffraction, phased array, alternating current flow measurement, eddy current testing and high-temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA). These courses are run from training centres located in Sheffield, UK, Perth, Australia, Houston, Texas or at on-site company locations.

Lavender International is also working with UK colleges and BINDT to deliver two types of NDT apprenticeship: the NDT Operator and the NDT Engineering Technician. These apprenticeships are available for individuals aged 16 years upwards and for both new and/or existing employees wishing to develop their skill set within a company. Funding is available for employers wishing to put their employee through an NDT apprenticeship and Lavender is happy to discuss this with companies who are interested.

The company will be exhibiting at Materials Testing 2017 to market its current services. Tim Armitt, Andrew Waller, Amy Schofield and Tom Green will be on hand to discuss any NDT-related queries. The technical staff have many years’ industrial experience, their expertise spanning a kaleidoscope of NDT methods, including niche applications and product forms. This includes pressure vessels, structural steelwork (including bridges, cranes and offshore platforms), pipeline pre-service and in-service, power generation (fossil fuel, nuclear and renewables), petrochemical industry (upstream, midstream and downstream), aerospace (civil and military), marine and submarine, automotive and locomotive vehicles. The team also performs research & development and develops bespoke inspections, novel inspection techniques and hybrid solutions to solve complex inspections on challenging materials, joint geometries and critical material degradation. The company offers expert witness services, independent technical reports and failure analysis services. There will also be a demonstration of and information about HTHA inspection, a new course that is set to roll out in October at Lavender’s training centre in Houston, USA. The demonstrations will be running at specific times throughout each day at the exhibition – visit stand C27 to find out more!

Along with a range of Lavender goodies, there will also be a special surprise feature on the stand at this year’s Materials Testing exhibition, so be sure to pay Lavender International a visit!
