Piezoelectric signal conditioner

06/12/2024

PCB Piezotronics (PCB) has introduced the new Endevco Model 6634D differential piezoelectric signal conditioner. The Model 6634D vibration amplifier is designed to condition and display vibration data from rotating machinery, such as turbo pumps, gas turbine engines and gearboxes.

Although primarily designed for use with differential piezoelectric (PE) sensors, it is also compatible with single-ended PE sensors, integrated electronics piezoelectric (IEPE) sensors, velocity coils (VELCOILs) and remote charge convertors (RCCs).
Model 6634D features PE, differential PE, IEPE, VELCOIL and RCC inputs, programmable alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) outputs for acceleration, velocity and displacement, high-pass (HP), low-pass (LP) and band-pass (BP) filtering, standard commands for programmable instruments (SCPI) remote control application programming interface (API) and user-selectable English or metric units.

Full-scale AC and DC output ranges are programmable in user-selected units to represent either acceleration, velocity or displacement. Up to ten different set-ups can be stored and recalled from the non-volatile memory. The six-pole HP, LP, BP filter is programmable from the front panel keypad, Ethernet or RS-232 interface. There are two transistor-transistor-logic (TTL) compatible latched alarm outputs provided for warning and alert.

Model 6634D can be used in aerospace test cells, vibration testing of turbo pumps, gas turbine engines, gearboxes and general vibration laboratory testing.

Model 6634D replaces Model 6634C, with the added improvements of an updated front-panel interface and the addition of browser-based control of the unit via its Ethernet connection.
