The 11th European Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (ECNDT), to take place in Prague from 6-10 October, is promising to be another highly-successful event for the European NDT community. The conference is being organised by the Czech Society for NDT (CNDT) and is to incorporate some exciting new features as well as a magnificent highlight in the form of a Special Lecture by none other than the Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Peter Higgs, discoverer of the so-called Higgs boson, often described as 'the most sought-after particle in modern physics'.

19/09/2014 Survey on inspection techniques for composites

NPL (UK), BAM (Germany), PTB (Germany), CMI (Czech Republic) and CEA (France) are collaborating on a three-year European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) project  on the development, validation and, ultimately, standardisation of non-destructive inspection techniques for polymer composite materials in energy applications (Project ENG57 - VITCEA).

15/09/2014 Formula Student 2014: Dutch team storms to victory with electric car

An electric car from TU Delft, from the Delft Institute of Technology in the Netherlands, stormed to victory at Formula Student 2014, the world’s largest student motorsport event. The competition took place at the Silverstone Circuit, the home of British motorsport, from 9-13 July 2014, and welcomed 106 teams from 38 countries around the world, including 37 UK universities.

03/09/2014 GE Measurement & Control and Oceanscan sign distributor agreement

GE Measurement & Control has signed a distributor agreement for its Inspection Technologies product line with Oceanscan Limited of Aberdeen. The agreement between the two companies means Oceanscan will be the sole distributor of Inspection Technologies products in Scotland.
