NDT Apprentice

IMechE Argyll Ruane (IAR) is seeking an NDT Apprentice who will specialise in the methods of magnetic particle inspection (MPI), penetrant testing (PT) and eddy current testing (ECT). The apprentice will join the team in Sheffield on a full-time basis for a three-year 
apprenticeship. 

The role:

• The successful candidate will receive expert training to achieve an NDT Level 2 certification in the methods of MPI, PT and ECT, enabling them to become a full-time non-destructive testing (NDT) tutor for IAR
• The successful candidate will learn to provide a high standard of training in various NDT disciplines, developing programmes of learning activities and preparing learning materials
• Maintaining accurate training records, the successful candidate will also be taught to create defect reports for training and examination samples, invigilate examinations and assess students’ work.

Requirements:

To be considered, you will need:

• At a minimum, three GCSEs or equivalent at Level 4/Grade C or above, including mathematics and English
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency in IT.

Please note:

• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check
• It is a requirement that the post-holder has a full driving licence once qualified in NDT.
